Slimming World Pork and Apple burgers

So i have had a few people ask me how to make slimming world pork and apple burgers so here is the recipy

You will need

500g of lean pork mince
2-3 apples peeled and cut up in to chunks
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder

Put everything in a bowl and mix together by hand shape into burgers either grill or fry in frylight and ta-dah !!!! all done
I have mine with bbq baked beans (free on ee) and slimming world chips LOVELY !!!!

update :-)

Right i thought i better write an update post as i haven't done one in a little while, life is crazy at the moment with wedding season kicking in along side proms too which means i have been busy with trials and brides and lovely little prom ladies.

Getting back to the slimming world side of things i have now reached my 2stone award which i am so chuffed with my total loss to date is 30.5 lbs ( 2 stone 2.5 lbs ) I am really proud of myself as this is the first time in my life that i have made any positive changes it is for the best but the thing that is so frustrating is my clothes there all getting to big and look like bin bags. I know it is a good thing but i flat rightly refuse to go and buy new stuff when i am trying to lose another 2-3 stone and that will give me the push i need to buy a whole new wardrobe.

On the food side of things i have been trying my best to experiment with different dishes and stuff but the trouble is i know what i like and i tend to stick to what works for me.
My main meals for the week consist of

Pork and Apple burgers
Beef burgers
Spaghetti and homemade meatballs
Slimming world all day breakfast
Roast Dinner
Pasta with mince and veggies (possibly my favourite)

I have also found that my best weeks are when i really limit my syns i aim to stick to non during the week and at the weekend i use all 15 on a Saturday and Sunday.

On the other hand this week has been horrendous its star week for me you know what that means ladies Chocolate Chocolate and more Chocolate mixed in with bread and wine and cheese i am 100% positive that i will have a gain this week  but i have just had my food shopping delivered this evening and that is packed with all free slimming world bits and bobs so I'm going to get back on it.

Add ons for meals that are under 5 Syns

Hey guys was just thinking of helpfull things that are convienant for dinner if you have a busy life-style
These are all under 5 syns each on the EE Plan :-)

Quorn
Best ever Cumberland Sausages  1 syn each
Best ever sausages                      1 syn each

Birds Eye
Bake to perfection chicken dishes they range from 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 syns each
BBQ mini griddles                    1syn each
Chicken Chargrills range from 3 - 4 1/2 each depending on flavour
Fish Fingers 25g each                1 1/2 syns each

Weight Watchers 
Premiem Cumberland Sausages    1/2 syn each
Premier Sausages                        1/2 syn each

Bernard Matthews
Mini turkey kievs                       1 1/2 syns each

These i found have been really helpfull especially if you are in a rush and pushed for time :-) remember to have your 1/3 a plate of veggie goodness :-)

Update on plan :-)

I am officialy usless !!! I have been so busy at the moment i have been so busy i havnt really had time to post in here but i really wanna get back to it as i found it really helped me with the best weeks i have had :-)

So since the last time i posted i have managed to get my 1stone and my 1 and 1/2 stone awards !!! then last night i lost another 3 1/2 lb whice gave me my club 10 award for losing 10% of my body weight since starting slimming world !!
I still have a way to go but hell i am loving life at the moment getting my last award has made me so pumped !!

I am trying a new body magic regime

Monday - Aqua Latio ( it is so fun)
Tuesday - Zumba
Wednesday - 15-20 lengths swim before i get weighed
Thursday - Nothing!!
Friday - Zumba
Saturday - Nothing
Sunday - Aqua Areobics

This really seems to be working for me at the moment but i know i will need to up my game soon to still get the good weightloss results !

I am still on the hunt for low syn bits a pieces and i will definitly start posting on here again :-)

My Stirfry :-)

So the other night i finished swimming at 8:15pm and was so hungry when i got home so made myself a massive stir fry !!
I know that everyone probally knows how to make a stir fry but this is just the way i done it and it was so good !!

You will need
  • Beansprouts
  • Water chestnuts
  • Pak choi
  • Baby Sweetcorn
  • Mange Tout
  • 1 Onion
  • Mushrooms ( i have chestnut and white mushrooms)
  • Light soy sauce
  • Fresh or lazy garlic
  • Fresh Ginger
  • Fry Light
  • Lean meat if you wish to add
  • Dried noodles
So i heat up a wok with a few squirts of fry light then i add the garlic ginger and onion dont leave them too long or they will burn and be minging !!
Then add all the vegetables but keeping some of the beansprouts to one side stirfry untill the vegetables are too your liking i like mine a little softer then ill add soy sauce to create a sauce for the dish.
While this is cooking then put your noodles on to cook and once there soft add them to the wok with the veggies (after they have been drained of course)
Just before you take it off the heat add in the beansprouts you kept to the side so the add extra crunch :-)

Also if you wanted to add meat to the dish just cook the meat first then add all the veggies and what not after :-)

Garnish with fresh  and some chilli flakes and your all done :-)

Cubed potatoes with rosemary and garlic x

New yummy thing's that i have been making is rosemary and garlic cubed potatoes there soooo lovely and perfect if you need something with a little bite!

Preheat the oven to 180 for a fan assisted ( gas mark 5 )

You can either peel your pots if you want to or leave the skin on i use my nicer dicer to cut the potatos into little cubes obviousaly you can do this manualy.
Then in a pestal and morter i ground up 3 garlic cloves (i love garlic)
with 1 spring of rosemary.

Get a container with a lid and spray the potatos with fry light and add the garlic and rosemary to them, pop the lid on a give it a good shake so all the potatos are covered with the mixture.
Dispense on to a wire cooking rack there availble from £1 land and are so handy as everything cooks evenly pop in the oven and just leave them for about 20 minutes just keeping an eye on them.

Right you know when your getting old as i was askin for Kitchen Utensils for my birthday presents, however i wanted them to help me with my cooking for slimming world which it has done massivly !!

But honestly its amazing i got it last week and have definitly used it every day. It comes with 5 different attachments. Clean up is really easy as its dishwasher safe so thats even better.

New treat under 3 syns

Now im a little excited about this the main thing i miss when im on Slimming World is CHOCOLATE!!! so i was doing my food shopping in Morrisons yesterday and discovered the new Cadburys hot chocolate drinks !!
There 40kcal per sachet and by the calculations of the synn calculator online there only 2 syns


I havnt tried them yet im waiting till i need the ultimate chocolate fix :-)
I think at Morrisons they were priced at 30p each or 4 for £1 please dont quote me on that.

If you know of any great treats under 5 syns please let me know

Slacking and feeling disheartened :-(

Hey lovelies well this last week has been interesting for me I gained 1lb this week :-( it has thrown me straight off course and I feel sooooooo disappointed so what did I do I had a bitch fit then thought what the heck am I doing I need to sort my life out. So I am back on track even though I am taking next Wednesday as holiday I need to get sorted and feeling better about myself in general before I go back to group so I went food shopping today stocked up on loads and loads of free and super free foods.
I am going to aqua Latino tomorrow night and Zumba on Tuesday :-) I WILL DO THIS !!!!

I found a few more of treats under 5 syns so ill do another post about them probably tomorrow

Wednesday 6th March Weigh in day!!

So Wednesday is the day of truth !!!!
I kept my day Syn free, started it off with Grapes and an alpen double choc bar :-)

Lunch was yet again another jacket potato !!! with baked beans and salad i have to say i am getting so sick of jacket spud i dont even like potatos but force myself to eat them as they are "good for you"
BLLEERRGH !!!
I had a muller light banana and custard yoghurt and nearly a whole punnet of grapes and an apple

WEIGH IN TIME!!!!!
Im going to sound so selfish now but please dont hate i lost 2 1/2 lb this week which to be honest with i am a little gutted with.
Obviousally i am happy that i lost but i just wish i had done maybe 4 as i have been really really good !!! Ah well cant win them all i suppose!!

Then i popped to a friends had a cuppa and before i knew it it was 8pm so ended up having my dinner really late which was just another stir fry nothing overly exciting.

March 5th :-)

Hi there so today its been an extra easy day again i cant win myself off them they are litterly too easy red and green just confusses me !!

Breakfast -  Alpen light double chocolate bar (2 of these count a HEB)

Mid morning - Apple

Lunch - Jacket Potato with baked beans and a massive salad of sliced egg lettace onion tomato red cabbage and rocket
      + a muller light yoghurt

Dinner plans havnt been made yet probally going to be a stirfry of some sort :-)

So i made my dinner oh my gosh i am getting to be a cullinary guiness!!!!

First of all i cut up the chicken and browned it off in some fry light
then i added fresh garlic and fresh ginger about a tspn of each then added spring onions, peppers, mushrooms, chestnut mushrooms, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, stirfried till chicked was cooked through then added fine dried noodles that had been cooking in boiling water for about 2 minutes added a good glug of light soy and DONE!!!! sprinkled with some dried chilli flakes and was soooooooooo yummy !!! try it out xx

OHHHH and i didnt have my freddo so syn free day x yey!!!

My Weekend !!!

Oh my god i have been so poorly generally just have a cold but feel so bleergh!!!! talk about having cravings for chocolate and snuggling infront of the tv but i managed to power through it and not give in to the temptation, woop woop go me !!!!

So overall i had a good weekend food wise to be honest i didnt have a massive appatite but made sure i had loads of fruit and veg :-)

Ill write what i remembered i had haha

I know on Friday i made the smoked haddock risotto with paoched egg it was amazing and i cant believe it is free so so tasty

i cant believe i didnt keep a food diary i really cant remember what else i had lol
Yesterday was my sisters birthday :-) so for a special dinner we had fillet steak with homemade chips peas mushrooms and 2 tablespoons of peppercorn sauce
No birtday cake but we did have birthday roulard which was a slimming world recipy online was really nice too.

I know i was good though and hopefully it will pay off in weigh-in tomorrow eeeek x

Thursday 28th Feb

Cant believe i completly forgot to post yesterday grrrrrrr
I thought i better do a little update anyway

Breakfast i had a HIFI bar cup of tea with sweetner and an apple

Lunch was a big jacket potato with baked beans and red onion and a muller light toffee yoghurt and some grapes. 

I also had a mug shot tomato and basil one which were actually really nice :-) and another

Dinner i had slimming world pork and apple burgers again they are sooooooooo good and i had home made chips with peas mushrooms and 1 tbsp of tomato ketchup (1 syn)
I really fancied something sweet and had a weight watchers chocolate dessert which was (3 syns)

So overall i had a really good day xx

Usefull syn free ingrediants :-)

So when i first started doing Slimming World i used to always get confussed what you can have what you cant have and so on.

Ive been doing a little research and found a few things that are actually really helpfull to know especially if you cook for alot of people regually or you do a load of batch cooking.

Lazy Garlic is brilliant as your fingers wont end up all stinky and its free i thought it would have been really high in syns but i guess i was wrong there are a few brands on the market but i know for definite that
EPC  ------------------------->
are free !!!!
They also do : very lazy ginger
                     : very lazy chillies
These are so ideal especially if you like the curry heavan cooking book the only downside is it dosnt last as long as fresh garlic/ginger but i can deal with that rather than having smelly hands.

Wednesday Weigh in Day !!!!!!



HEYYYYY!!!  So today was good started off the day with 1 slice of bacon (all fat removed) baked beans and mushrooms :-) to be fair i would love to have to have that every morning as it gave me loads of energy but I'm not gonna lie i don't get up early enough to cook so fruit it is when I'm at work lol.

I wasn't hungry around lunch time so just had a Muller light toffee flavour apple grapes and strawberry's

Then it was weigh in time !!!!!!
I was sooooooo nervous i really didn't think i was going to do that well at all but turns out i lost
6LB!!!!!!
I was so chuffed it goes to show all that hard work does pay off and decided to set myself a stupid goal of 6lb for next week EEEEKKKKK !!!! I think i was just feeling brave but hey ho see how i get on i suppose i can only try my best !

I also won the Camille's Appeal Prize for losing the most weight in group :-) which was a lovely little goody bag, the charity is amazing if you click here it will take you direct to the web page with all the information the fantastic charity does !!!

So after that i went to my mums for dinner and we made Slimming world Pork and Apple burgers with jacket potato and baked beans was yummy!!! and all syn free!!!!!!

Tuesday 26th Feb

Morning again !! Today hasnt started off as stessfull lol managed not to be late for work which was a good start, when the weather starts to warm up i plan to walk to work at least 3 times a week :-)

Breakfast today was a muller toffee yoghurt with an orange and some grapes very refreshing.

Lunch i think im going to have a jacket potato again with baked beans and salad some more fruit and lots of water

Im saving my syns for tonight as my lovely friend from work is cooking me dinner tonight and i know there is sausages in the dish which i have to be careful about as syns add up with sausages and such like. But ill make sure i have my 2/3 of veg too so hopefully it will balance

So i am one of those people to "live to eat" not "eat to live" as they say !

Syns that you woudnt believe!!!!!

I was just having a little check through the slimming world website and i couldnt believe the syns in some things here are a few examples of some of my fav treats which i will definitly have to either rethink or alter for my allowance
If you havnt done slimming world before the reccomened allowance for a day is 5 - 15 syns

Anyone who knows me will know i love starbucks and costa well i normally have this:
Starbucks Classic Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream, Semi Skimmed Milk, 1 short - But at 9 syns !!!! i may have to rethink even with skimmed or soy milk its 8 syns !!

This i couldnt actually believe !!!  Costa Blackforest Hot Chocolate, Full Fat Milk, 1 primo  17 1/2 syns thats for a small !!!!

A Treat me and friends used to allways have on a saturday night was Dominos Pizza this was shocking too
Dominos Cheese & Tomato Medium Regular Crust Pizza, sliced into 8, per slice is 8 Syns !!!! PER SLICE !!! thats without any dips chicken drinks anything arrrrrgghhh !!

So my alternative for hotchoc's is Options Belgian Choc, dried, 11g sachet there 2 Syns per sachet
Unfortuantly i have no substitute for Dominos Pizza but hey ho that would have to be for a syn free week treat at the weekend

Monday 25th Feb

Morning !!!!

So today started off stressful !! Got stuck in traffic for 30 minutes on the way too work that was annoying.
But anyways.........Breakfast was a 28g pouch of ready brek now i think this is classed as a healthy extra B and the milk is taken out of your HEA allowance if i am wrong please tell me as i don't want to not balance it out !!

Lunch is MASSIVE!!! houmous with carrot sticks yogurt and might have a jacket potato too sounds really chubby like but that's all free too woop woop !!!

Feeling good about myself at the moment cant wait to get weighed on Wednesday i really hope Ive lost at least 2lb :-) fingers crossed

Dinner was yummy and i think only contained about 2 syns cant be completely right as my mum cooked tonight
Lean Mince with loads of carrots and peas and gravy with mash potato and extra peas on the side was sooooo good proper comfort style food :-)

Sunday 24th Feb

So been a busy bee this morning had some treatments to do for my grandparents :-)
for breakfast i had a weightwatchers yoghart (free) and an apple
Instead of a traditional Sunday Lunch my mum has treated us with Slimming world home made burgers with Slimming world chips salad and spaghetti in tomato sauce yummy!!! i still cant believe that is all free !!
I did have a little treat of 6 mini eggs which are 1 1/2 syns for 2
plenty of water and a can of diet coke with my lunch
Dont know what the plan is for dinner may have my left over soup !!

I have also made some houmous dip for my lunch at work and that is completly free too loving all this free stuff its amazing the houmous tastes so good aswell

EXERCISE!!!

Right so i have now become even more commited !! I have gone and got myself an iCard woop woop. Not to sure what i want to do as yet i would love to do the gym really hardcore but it scares me :-(

I might go back to doing Zumba i used to do it about a year ago but it just fizzled
I am also going to try swimming 2-3 times a week if i can convince my mum to come with me.

What classes or fitness do any of you guys do that you could recomend

Saturday 23rd 2013

Today started off a little slow really didnt fancy breakfast so had a cup of tea and a hifi light bar.
Been drinking sooooo much water but its slowly starting to work its magic i dont know whether it is my imagination but im starting to feel as i have more energy all ready and im less grumpy lol.

Lunch time was good had homemade soup i used the recipy from the extra easy book (chicken noodle soup) was really nice and filling.
Also had 2 apples and loads more water.

Not to sure what im going to do for dinner tonight though Saturday night is always known for being a takeaway night so have to power through the urge of ordering one....ill keep you updated :-) x
So decided on dinner only 1 syn too Yey !! Had a mess of mushroom lean bacon spring onion and eggs mushed up :-) with spaghetti hoops and 1 tbspn of Tom ketchup !!!

Friday 22nd Feb :-)

So yesterday i had a really really good day completly free no syns yey!
I prefere to have my syns at the weekend to be honest weather its a little bit of choc or a glass of vino it makes it so much more worth it i think.

Breakfast - Fruit salad of apple grapes pineapple was really yum !!

Lunch - Slimming world fry up fried egg with frylight baked beans big flat mushroom 3 bits of bacon with all the fat cut off

Dinner - Tried out the Chicken Curry from the curry delight book was sooooooo yummy a little bit watery but was so nice with loads of rice and some water.

HEA - Semi Skimmed milk for tea
HEB - 2 x HiFi Light Rocky Road Bars Soooooo tasty !!

My introduction xxx

Hi there welcome to my journey !!!
I have firmly decided that i want/need to lose weight so i wanted to create this for inspiration to myself and hopefully others too.

Ill tell you a little about me, my name is Gemma :-) I'm 24 work as a full time receptionist at a  hairdressers and also do beauty and make-up in my spare time :-)

I did do slimming world a little while ago and done really well i lost a stone in 5 weeks which i was so chuffed about but...................... Christmas was slowly creeping up and you and i both know it is so hard to "diet" during the festive season, well i took full advantage of this and enjoyed myself fully, drinking wine cocktails baileys and stupidly overdoing it with the food.
All i kept thinking was i'll start again on Monday ill start on Monday!!! (Doesn't everyone say that!!)

Well this Monday was a bloody long way away to be more precise it was 1 1/2 months later :-(
but i have picked myself up and going to go for it all in !!! I WILL DO THIS!!!

I have 5 weddings to attend this year one is in Turkey and i am a bridesmaid so i want to look the best i can i my target weight loss is 2 1/2 - 3 Stone i know its high but i believe i can do it.
I will try and post on here as much as i can but please feel free to leave any comments recipies and your own stories that will be great :-)
