Usefull syn free ingrediants :-)

So when i first started doing Slimming World i used to always get confussed what you can have what you cant have and so on.

Ive been doing a little research and found a few things that are actually really helpfull to know especially if you cook for alot of people regually or you do a load of batch cooking.

Lazy Garlic is brilliant as your fingers wont end up all stinky and its free i thought it would have been really high in syns but i guess i was wrong there are a few brands on the market but i know for definite that

are free !!!!
They also do : very lazy ginger
                     : very lazy chillies
These are so ideal especially if you like the curry heavan cooking book the only downside is it dosnt last as long as fresh garlic/ginger but i can deal with that rather than having smelly hands.

Wednesday Weigh in Day !!!!!!



HEYYYYY!!!  So today was good started off the day with 1 slice of bacon (all fat removed) baked beans and mushrooms :-) to be fair i would love to have to have that every morning as it gave me loads of energy but I'm not gonna lie i don't get up early enough to cook so fruit it is when I'm at work lol.

I wasn't hungry around lunch time so just had a Muller light toffee flavour apple grapes and strawberry's

Then it was weigh in time !!!!!!
I was sooooooo nervous i really didn't think i was going to do that well at all but turns out i lost
6LB!!!!!!
I was so chuffed it goes to show all that hard work does pay off and decided to set myself a stupid goal of 6lb for next week EEEEKKKKK !!!! I think i was just feeling brave but hey ho see how i get on i suppose i can only try my best !

I also won the Camille's Appeal Prize for losing the most weight in group :-) which was a lovely little goody bag, the charity is amazing if you click here it will take you direct to the web page with all the information the fantastic charity does !!!

So after that i went to my mums for dinner and we made Slimming world Pork and Apple burgers with jacket potato and baked beans was yummy!!! and all syn free!!!!!!

Tuesday 26th Feb

Morning again !! Today hasnt started off as stessfull lol managed not to be late for work which was a good start, when the weather starts to warm up i plan to walk to work at least 3 times a week :-)

Breakfast today was a muller toffee yoghurt with an orange and some grapes very refreshing.

Lunch i think im going to have a jacket potato again with baked beans and salad some more fruit and lots of water

Im saving my syns for tonight as my lovely friend from work is cooking me dinner tonight and i know there is sausages in the dish which i have to be careful about as syns add up with sausages and such like. But ill make sure i have my 2/3 of veg too so hopefully it will balance

Syn free snacks

So i am one of those people to "live to eat" not "eat to live" as they say !
So i think the first thing you think of when you start a "diet" is how much you cant eat. That is what i love about Slimming World is that you can literlly eat as much as you want (of the right food obviousally)

So i found a few little things that are syn free that are great for snacking on throughout the day :-)

Syns that you woudnt believe!!!!!

I was just having a little check through the slimming world website and i couldnt believe the syns in some things here are a few examples of some of my fav treats which i will definitly have to either rethink or alter for my allowance
If you havnt done slimming world before the reccomened allowance for a day is 5 - 15 syns

Anyone who knows me will know i love starbucks and costa well i normally have this:
Starbucks Classic Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream, Semi Skimmed Milk, 1 short - But at 9 syns !!!! i may have to rethink even with skimmed or soy milk its 8 syns !!

This i couldnt actually believe !!!  Costa Blackforest Hot Chocolate, Full Fat Milk, 1 primo  17 1/2 syns thats for a small !!!!

A Treat me and friends used to allways have on a saturday night was Dominos Pizza this was shocking too
Dominos Cheese & Tomato Medium Regular Crust Pizza, sliced into 8, per slice is 8 Syns !!!! PER SLICE !!! thats without any dips chicken drinks anything arrrrrgghhh !!

So my alternative for hotchoc's is Options Belgian Choc, dried, 11g sachet there 2 Syns per sachet
Unfortuantly i have no substitute for Dominos Pizza but hey ho that would have to be for a syn free week treat at the weekend

Monday 25th Feb

Morning !!!!

So today started off stressful !! Got stuck in traffic for 30 minutes on the way too work that was annoying.
But anyways.........Breakfast was a 28g pouch of ready brek now i think this is classed as a healthy extra B and the milk is taken out of your HEA allowance if i am wrong please tell me as i don't want to not balance it out !!

Lunch is MASSIVE!!! houmous with carrot sticks yogurt and might have a jacket potato too sounds really chubby like but that's all free too woop woop !!!

Feeling good about myself at the moment cant wait to get weighed on Wednesday i really hope Ive lost at least 2lb :-) fingers crossed

Dinner was yummy and i think only contained about 2 syns cant be completely right as my mum cooked tonight
Lean Mince with loads of carrots and peas and gravy with mash potato and extra peas on the side was sooooo good proper comfort style food :-)

Sunday 24th Feb

So been a busy bee this morning had some treatments to do for my grandparents :-)
for breakfast i had a weightwatchers yoghart (free) and an apple
Instead of a traditional Sunday Lunch my mum has treated us with Slimming world home made burgers with Slimming world chips salad and spaghetti in tomato sauce yummy!!! i still cant believe that is all free !!
I did have a little treat of 6 mini eggs which are 1 1/2 syns for 2
plenty of water and a can of diet coke with my lunch
Dont know what the plan is for dinner may have my left over soup !!

I have also made some houmous dip for my lunch at work and that is completly free too loving all this free stuff its amazing the houmous tastes so good aswell

Right im blabbering on lol !!!

EXERCISE!!!

Right so i have now become even more commited !! I have gone and got myself an iCard woop woop. Not to sure what i want to do as yet i would love to do the gym really hardcore but it scares me :-(

I might go back to doing Zumba i used to do it about a year ago but it just fizzled
I am also going to try swimming 2-3 times a week if i can convince my mum to come with me.

What classes or fitness do any of you guys do that you could recomend

Saturday 23rd 2013

Today started off a little slow really didnt fancy breakfast so had a cup of tea and a hifi light bar.
Been drinking sooooo much water but its slowly starting to work its magic i dont know whether it is my imagination but im starting to feel as i have more energy all ready and im less grumpy lol.

Lunch time was good had homemade soup i used the recipy from the extra easy book (chicken noodle soup) was really nice and filling.
Also had 2 apples and loads more water.

Not to sure what im going to do for dinner tonight though Saturday night is always known for being a takeaway night so have to power through the urge of ordering one....ill keep you updated :-) x
So decided on dinner only 1 syn too Yey !! Had a mess of mushroom lean bacon spring onion and eggs mushed up :-) with spaghetti hoops and 1 tbspn of Tom ketchup !!!

Friday 22nd Feb :-)

So yesterday i had a really really good day completly free no syns yey!
I prefere to have my syns at the weekend to be honest weather its a little bit of choc or a glass of vino it makes it so much more worth it i think.

Breakfast - Fruit salad of apple grapes pineapple was really yum !!

Lunch - Slimming world fry up fried egg with frylight baked beans big flat mushroom 3 bits of bacon with all the fat cut off

Dinner - Tried out the Chicken Curry from the curry delight book was sooooooo yummy a little bit watery but was so nice with loads of rice and some water.

HEA - Semi Skimmed milk for tea
HEB - 2 x HiFi Light Rocky Road Bars Soooooo tasty !!

My introduction xxx

Hi there welcome to my journey !!!
I have firmly decided that i want/need to lose weight so i wanted to create this for inspiration to myself and hopefully others too.

Ill tell you a little about me, my name is Gemma :-) I'm 24 work as a full time receptionist at a  hairdressers and also do beauty and make-up in my spare time :-)

I did do slimming world a little while ago and done really well i lost a stone in 5 weeks which i was so chuffed about but...................... Christmas was slowly creeping up and you and i both know it is so hard to "diet" during the festive season, well i took full advantage of this and enjoyed myself fully, drinking wine cocktails baileys and stupidly overdoing it with the food.
All i kept thinking was i'll start again on Monday ill start on Monday!!! (Doesn't everyone say that!!)

Well this Monday was a bloody long way away to be more precise it was 1 1/2 months later :-(
but i have picked myself up and going to go for it all in !!! I WILL DO THIS!!!

I have 5 weddings to attend this year one is in Turkey and i am a bridesmaid so i want to look the best i can i my target weight loss is 2 1/2 - 3 Stone i know its high but i believe i can do it.
I will try and post on here as much as i can but please feel free to leave any comments recipies and your own stories that will be great :-)
